Mersea is in a rural part of North East Essex, but unique in that it's very accessible. Connected to the mainland by a causeway - referred to locally as 'The Strood' - which is occasionally flooded for an hour at high tide (see Tide Tables on right).
The event is held at Mersea Vineyard in Rewsalls Lane, East Mersea.
Postcode for your Sat-Nav: CO5 8SX
Free parking is available at the festival, just follow the signs.
From Colchester follow the B1025 Mersea Road towards Mersea. When you cross the Strood causeway to get onto the island take the left hand fork turning towards East Mersea. After about 1 mile (shortly after the East Mersea sign) turn right into Rewsalls Lane, sign posted to the Mersea Island Vineyard.
The causeway joining Mersea to the mainland may be covered by the tide during the festival, so please plan your journey around the times below, allowing 30 minutes either side of the high tide times.
