The Mersea Island Food, Drink and Leisure Festival wouldn’t be the same without a wealth of entertainment to keep you occupied in between visiting the many exhibitors. This year there will be a full programme of music, song and dance on the main stage and in the Acoustic Tent (sponsored by Black Diamond Accordions) on the lower lawn. There will be something for everyone as musicians and dancers from Mersea and the local area perform for your enjoyment.

The Main Stage

A wide variety of performers will be taking to the main stage and the area immediately in front of it throughout the two days, so visit the food and drink stands in the upper area and relax on the grass to be entertained. Sound will once again be expertly mixed by Elizabeth Cannon.

The BDA Acoustic Tent

The Acoustic Tent is for more intimate performances than the main stage on the upper lawn. With the central marquee providing a sound baffle, there only needs to be minimal amplification to lift voices and instruments above ambient noise levels. There is a programme of performances throughout both afternoons that will feature many of the main stage acts reprising their acoustic sets, as well as performers better suited to acoustic presentation. The acoustic tent is being sponsored by Black Diamond Accordions, who will be showing a range of affordable instruments that visitors are welcome to try out. There will also be a half-hour ‘sessions’ each day, recreating the atmosphere of the Thursday Night Acoustic Session, held weekly at the Coast Inn, West Mersea, out of which many of the Festival’s performers formed music groups
